The 2025 Tiervis Bonanza held at the Sodwana Angling Club on Jozini Dam proved once again why it is one of South Africa’s most anticipated fishing events. Anglers from across the country gathered for an action-packed weekend, braving the elements and showcasing their skill in pursuit of the mighty Tigerfish.
With over 280 boats on the water, the competition was fierce, but fellowship and sportsmanship remained at the heart of the event. Despite the unpredictable weather, spirits stayed high as anglers reeled in remarkable catches that had the crowd cheering along the shoreline.
Yamaha South Africa Marine was yet again the proud sponsor of this incredible event, sponsoring the Yamaha F100 outboard engine that perfectly complements the D7 Waveglider 520 boat and of course fitted and rigged with the Ultraflex hydraulic steering and control cables for smooth operations.
The highlight of the weekend came when Jayden Besovsky claimed the top prize, his impressive catch and determination earned him the ultimate bragging rights for the weekend, with an impressive Tigerfish that measured 680mm.
The Team Yamaha crew were also on the water aboard an Explorer EVO 520, powered by twin Yamaha F70 outboards which was a flawless setup built to handle rough conditions, offer exceptional stability, provide ample fishing space, and fuel-efficient outboards that got the team to the prime spots.
Congratulations to Jayden and all the winners who made this year’s Tiervis Bonanza 2025 an unforgettable success. To every participant who took part, whether you landed a Tigerfish or simply enjoyed the thrill of the chase, your enthusiasm continues to make this event a highlight on the angling calendar.
Here’s to another successful year of fishing, friendship, and unforgettable moments at Tiervis Bonanza.
