Grizzly now runs a new liquid cooled 686cc engine with improved engine response and lower vibration, noise and fuel consumption. A number of internal engine changes have been made including revised bore and stroke dimensions, a low friction plated cylinder – was cast iron - and the cast piston is now a forged item. A new air intake improves engine output especially in the key mid-range area while redesigned engine mounts make for even smoother running.
Yamaha’s Ultramatic transmission now features different CVT weights and gear ratios to suit each model. The system continues to feature a gated shifter, dual range (Hi/Lo) drive plus reverse gear, and is the most advanced — and durable — CVT drive system available. An automatic centrifugal clutch maintains constant belt tension for reduced belt wear and a sprag clutch delivers natural all-wheel engine braking
The three-position On-Command® 4WD system lets you switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and a fully locked differential 4WD all with the simple push of a button. An override button allows engine to reach maximum rpm in full diff lock mode, and a straight driveshaft layout eliminates U-joints for reduced friction, noise, vibration, and maintenance.
Rugged, large-diameter steel cargo racks with durable wrinkle paint finish can pack a total of 140kg combined (50kg. front, 90kg rear). Three on-board storage compartments keep things secure. Centre-mounted, heavy-duty two inch receiver comes standard on Grizzly EPS and can tow more than 590kg.
LED technology uses less power, creates brighter, sharper illumination, and offers lifetime durability. A handlebar-mounted halogen work light provides additional illumination that moves with rider input for excellent visibility.
Independent double wishbone suspension, with 193mm of front wheel travel and 231mm at the rear, provides excellent rider comfort even on the toughest trails, thanks to nitrogen-charged shocks with 5-way adjustable preload.
Powerful and consistent braking comes standard on every Grizzly 700, thanks to four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes with unmatched braking feel.
The Grizzly is equipped with durable new lightweight plastic skid plates that protect the underside at the front and rear. These skid plates benefit from recessed mounting points that give a smooth surface to minimise the chance of being snagged on rough and technical terrain.
The easy to read large LCD multi-function instruments feature a fuel gauge, speedometer, odometer, dual trip meters, hour meter, clock, 4WD/Diff Lock status, transmission gear selector and EPS warning light. The newly designed meter is located closer to the rider so that accurate machine status can be viewed quickly. For added convenience there is a 12V DC outlet to power accessories.
For added comfort and reduced physical effort the Grizzly 700 is equipped with Electronic Power Steering (EPS) that has been designed to offer the best balance of rider assist and positive feedback. By maintaining light steering and precise handling, this rack and pinion system enhances rider comfort, confidence and control, and also maximises this big-bore ATV's off road capabilities.
To facilitate the fitment of the new easy-access air filter and new centre storage compartment, the fuel tank on the Grizzly 700 EPS is relocated to a new position under the seat - whereas previously it was positioned further forwards and above the engine. Featuring the fuel filler on the right side rear fender, this 18-litre tank gives a good operating range.
The new Grizzly Special Edition black alloy wheels are larger than the 12-inch units fitted to the standard and Camo Grizzly models, and are mounted with 27 inch Maxxis Zilla tyres for increased traction.
WARN Pro Vantage 2500 winch is standard on the new Grizzly 700 Special Edition and is a welcome addition for riders who want to get off the beaten track
