A vacancy has arisen for a Woodwind Intern reporting to the Senior Woodwind Technician at Tuning Fork Pty Ltd. The vacancy is open to candidates with immediate effect.

Position Overview: To assist with the inspection, cleaning, maintenance, repair, and servicing of woodwind instruments while receiving practical hands-on training. The intern will develop technical skills under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure instruments are maintained to a high standard.

Job Description:
Assist with cleaning and servicing woodwind instruments
• Clean instruments using appropriate materials and methods under supervision, following workshop procedures.

Learn to diagnose basic faults and identify repair requirements
• Observe and participate in inspections, identify visible defects and report findings to the senior technician.

Replace simple components such as pads, corks, springs, felts, and screws under supervision
• Use appropriate tools and techniques to remove and replace components according to manufacturer and workshop standards.

Assist with assembling and disassembling instruments safely
• Follow established procedures and use the correct tools while handling instruments with care.

Polish and prepare instruments for customer collection
• Polish instruments using approved products and conduct a final visual inspection.

Minimum Requirements:
•Grade 12 (Matric)

Minimum Experience:
• No experience needed.

Competencies:
• A passion for music or musical instruments, willingness to learn and take instruction.
